Stainless steel 321 fasteners have around 17–19% chromium and 9–12% nickel, with titanium added (at least five times the carbon level) to prevent welding carbide precipitation. This makes them suitable for continuous exposure of temperatures to around 900°C (1650°F). 321H is a high-carbon grade of 321 with enhanced creep strength and superior performance in high-temperature conditions. Both grades exhibit excellent oxidation resistance and satisfactory mechanical properties in high-temperature conditions.
