310/310S stainless steel contains 24–26% chromium, 19–22% nickel, and low carbon (≤0.08% for 310S). Both grades offer tensile strength of 520–750 MPa and yield strength of 205–310 MPa, along with excellent ductility and elongation. Their austenitic structure ensures toughness at both high and low temperatures. 310S has reduced carbon, which lessens carbide precipitation during welding, making it better for welded applications. These steels show great resistance to oxidation at temperatures up to 1100°C, making them ideal for continuous use in thermal and chemically harsh conditions.
