Stainless steel 316Ti stud bolts have a composition of about 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and added titanium to stabilize the alloy against sensitization. Titanium stabilization enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion when welding and within temperatures up to 900°C (1650°F). The alloy is characterized by good mechanical strength, toughness, as well as high resistance to corrosion caused by chlorides.
